2008 Dane County Fair was a time that Anna and Catherine Hinchley will remember for many years to come. Anna and Catherine are the twin daughters of Duane and Tina Hinchley. They all live together at the farm known for their farm tours that are given at their working dairy farm in Cambridge, Wisconsin.
The farm is know for it's dairy cows, calves, and acres of farm land, but it is also home to many other animals that are owned and cared for by Anna and Catherine. They own many rabbits, at times over 40! They are show quality mini-lops and french lops. Along with their rabbits they raise many different breeds of show quality chickens, ducks, and geese. Starting with chicks hatching in January and caring for them through the shows and beyond.
During summer the girls go to Stoughton Jr. Fair and Dane County fair to show their animals with the Cambridge 4-H club. Other times of the year, they go to open shows and show their animals in youth competions. This summer being one of their most successfull, they recieved many ribbons and trophies for not only animals, but also for showmanship displaying their knowledge of their animals.
Next year they hope to continue their success and to also include other animals such as llamas, and possibly pigs. |
